My Story

The Time

Machine

I'd love to tell you my story.

Whether you've known me for a while or this is the first time you're hearing about me.

I took the liberty of collecting the most important and meaningful moments throughout my life for you.

1996-2002

This is the year I was born, on August 10th to be exact.

I was born and raised in Mexico City. My parents told me a story about my birth in Burbank, IL. But I stick with the beloved CDMX.

During the first 6 years of my life, it was my parents, my brother, and me.

I was 2 years younger, and we lived in an apartment on Carreteraco Street in the Coyoacán neighborhood in Mexico.

2003-2010

My sister was born when I turned 7 years old.

We had moved a bit further south to Coapa.

That's where I spent most of my life.

My first musical encounter.

There I am, waiting for my father to come home from work, after he promised to buy me a piano to learn how to play.

But every night he came and I peeked down the stairs, he arrived empty-handed. I guess I never appreciated how hard he worked to give us what we always asked for.

Until one day, he got it. A digital Behringer piano.

After entering middle school, my musical taste shifted to wanting to learn percussion and immediately to playing the drums.

Some old photos from when I was in high school with my first rock band "The Old School."

Here I am, sitting on a bus, contemplating the journey to the first rehearsals of "The Old School."

And here's one of the early rehearsals with my first rock band. We were working on the only complete song we wrote, "Talk About You."

2013

I made a documentary video for a university project, and it seems that I've now found the meaning behind this project.

The story of "The Old School."

My first college short film, nothing fancy

At the same time, I was studying a degree in Contemporary Singing and Music. When I finally finished Digital Cinema, I came up with the idea to create a project with DJ (my good friend and drummer from uni) and a couple of his colleagues. It was the moment we formed a tribute band to Interpol called "The Obstacles," and we made some noise on social media. Nothing extraordinary, we lasted like that for the rest of the year.

The Obstacle's full story can be viewed linked to Novel Spark's story.

2015-2017

A photo from when we had our first rehearsals as a tribute band to Interpol, The Obstacles.

2018

The first time I hugged Freddy.

I bought it at an eBay auction, for some reason, no one wanted it.

It was a bargain to buy it back then.

It arrived from the United States.

2019

This is where Novel Spark takes the lead. To get the full story, I recommend watching Awaiting. If not, you can go straight to the Novel Spark story.

2021

After who knows how many years living in CDMX and not having a photo at the Angel... well, now I do.

For the first time in my life, I drove on the highway for 3 hours... maybe less.

My first music video.

Liza Baez performing on that occasion.

2022

Once again

An album takes over one of my years. To see the full story, click here.

When I premiered my music video "Star," I sent my first autographed Spotify plaque to an Instagram fan.

I still have to send the other 7...

In April, I had surgery to straighten a deviated septum, and that's why "Let Me Go" was an animated music video.

Actually, to make the transition less noticeable, I decided to justify it with an attack on the "Star" character in "Let Me Go" so that it would have continuity.

you know what?

here is star #1 behind the scenes:

That's it for now...
